This is a lovely, low-calorie, FAST comfort meal. I’ve included a Dukan friendly adjustment and a few suggested parings.

(Serves 3 – 4)

Cook Time: 10 – 15 minutes


2 long, skinny French Bread loaves

*Choose whole grain for Eating Clean

Olive OIl
1 tsp. Anchovy Paste (try amazon if you can’t find it at your grocer)
1 lb. Shrimp, large or jumbo
5 Garlic Cloves, shredded or minced
Salt to taste
2 T. Capers, drained
Crushed Red Pepper, few dashes
1 c. Dry White Wine
1- 2 T. Parsley, chopped
1 c. Clam juice
1 – 2 T. butter

Heat oven to 275 degrees. Tear bread into 2 inch pieces and heat in oven until warm and slightly crusty.

Meanwhile, drizzle olive oil in frying pan. Saute shrimp until pink. Push shrimp to the edges of the pan and stir in anchovy paste, capers, crushed pepper, and salt to taste. The anchovy paste may add enough of a salty taste, so test your recipe first! Shred garlic over pan or add minced garlic. Stir all together and simmer for a few minutes. Add wine, chopped parsley, and clam juice and simmer for 5 more minutes. Melt butter into “soup,” remove from heat, and drizzle with fresh lemon juice. This Mariner’s Shrimp Scampi will be very “brothy.”

Place several torn pieces of bread in the bottom of a large soup bowl and ladel a generous amount of shrimp and broth over top. “Sop” bread into broth, say “A-Hoy Mate” and enjoy!

A Complete Meal: Serve with salad greens drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette and a lemony dessert.

Dukan-friendly and Low carb: omit bread and use shirataki noodles for Asian-infused Shrimp Scampi.
